New Book!

Wild Things at the Library

For those of you who missed the "Wild Things" exhibit at HQ, you can still see some of the work as it has moved to Pere Ambroise Library (2093 Visitation 3rd floor).
My two drawings have also moved with the show.

Here are some of the drawings I made for my So I've Been Told show

My art work was featured in the latest issue of Matrix Magazine. You can pick a copy up here.  I'm showing the cover for the issue but I didn't actually draw the cover. I have four pages of drawings inside.

So I`ve Been Told

My solo show is coming up soon.
Here is the article in this weeks hour.

Here are the two portraits I made for the Poor Traits show.

I have a couple of drawings in this show at Headquarters Gallery and Boutique. I'm sad I won't be here for the vernissage. Go check it out on the 22nd of August!
Poor Traits
Portraiture like you've never seen before

Featuring the works of well over twenty emerging and established artists, “Poor Traits” is a playful group show in which each participant was asked to submit a portrait of whomever, or whatever they chose. The only criteria being anything from the shoulders up, and each on a 12x12” pre-prepared panel.

Significantly, this project in its massive accumulation of images, focuses not on the individual visage (by giving each its ‘personal space’), but instead, like a mob of people hung in a salon-styled cluster of panels, these works challenge the viewer to confront the installation as a whole. Only with a little time and patience do the individual faces emerge to tell their tales, till the next character begs for attention. Thus the multifaceted story unfolds as one gets the picture of a of very talented pile of artists having fun. Perhaps somehow reminiscent of a crowd filled nightmare, we assure you, this show will undoubtedly be far, far away from a bad dream. Bring your blankey just in case.

Osheaga Pyramids

I was asked this year to be a part of the YPF's art installation for the Osheaga music festival. So last weekend, myself and Jen Storey had a three day painting jam and produced this piece. It will be stretched over a frame, once erected it will be a painted, 10 foot tall pyramid. I had so much fun painting with Jen. There will be 5 pyramids in total. Pictured I have Fred Casia sewing up his pyramid and another photo of his three faced pyradewd. The last two photos are of
Tyson Bodnarchuk and Angie Johnson's mountain man pyramid. Aya Kakeda came to Montreal and helped complete the last two.
Yana Gorbulsky was key in the construction of the pyramids she worked all the sewing out. Check out her clothing line here.
More pictures to come of the actual installation at the site. I can't wait to see all five pyramids once they are at Parc Jean Drapeau!

There are also going to be crazy colored giant heads coming out of the ground that are made by
Aaron McConomy, James Kerr, Krissy Longtin, and Dessa Harhay.

I am painting a mural at Boutique Unicorn at 5135 St Laurent (just below Fairmount). Check out their blog to see the work in progress. Or come by the store to say hi. The Mens and Womens clothes are beautiful and made by Quebec designers.  I will be working from 11-4 for the next week or so.

I am a part of this drawing collaboration show called En Masse. The artists are drawing in Gallery Pangee for the whole month of February. The opening party is part of Nuit Blanche so it runs all night long. The gallery is open all of February for anyone to come in while the artists are drawing.

This is an embroidery I made for a show at -the late- My Hero Gallery. This picture was taken during the vernissage, I'm not sure whose hand that is but it looks like it was making me nervous. Thanks to Becky Katz for taking the photos that night.
